We began in 1974 as Frederick Animal Clinic, a mixed animal practice, in Frederick, OK. Over the next 35 years our patients and clientele continued to grow and encompass the surrounding area, especially the Altus, OK area. We had out-grown the Frederick clinic and needed a new home. After much contemplation we chose Altus, OK to be our new location, and in so doing we chose a building design and name change that would reflect the kind of medicine we would practice. It was in Aug. 2009 that we opened All Pets Medical Center, 1300 E Tamarack Rd, Altus, OK. In the few years we have been at our new location we have continued to grow and now draw clients from as far away as FL, CO, MO, PA, MS, AK, KS, TX, NC, and other states for our surgical insemination breeding services. We now get referrals from surrounding Veterinarians for our surgical and imaging services.
In our quest to be a first class veterinary clinic we felt it was important to be accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association. AAHA has developed a set of accreditation standards that are widely used as benchmarks to measure excellence in veterinary medicine. Currently, no more than 3,200 veterinary clinics hold the “AAHA-accredited” designation (26 in Oklahoma). AAHA developed the accreditation program to raise the level of care being provided to companion animals, to increase loyalty among veterinary staff members, and to provide a way for animal hospitals to show their excellence to their communities and clients.
We were one of the first clinics in the Midwest U.S. to utilize lasers in surgery, to incorporate external imaging in ear examinations, full range of endoscopy instruments, digital radiography, and minimal invasive surgical procedures. We were also the first with in-house Stem Cell Therapy and an early adopter of cold laser therapy. Yet with all this technology the most important is outstanding personal service.
